The Latent Fear of the Flow State

The flow state is beautiful until the fear creeps back in. The ego might cling on even more, feeling a sense of disgust and blame that we let the flow state go and succumbed to fear. However, the fear was unintegrated which is why it was able to come back. There is no way to truly suppress and feel the high all the time unless we work on this crucial aspect first.

The paradox of opening our energy up is that it may cause us to have a lot more fear-based emotions and thoughts.

However, the payoff to not opening up is far greater – stagnation. If your soul is one that craves growth, it can’t handle the depressing stagnation of not following your inner being.

The moment we decide that we can’t handle the payoff, we become strong enough to face the arduous task of transmuting everything that comes up as we open up.

The process of opening up can take a while and is often not linear. I do think technology has made it more feasible – since we may find the answers that we are looking for online, which may prove to be a blessing when we may be stuck in a rut. It helps us to keep going NO MATTER WHAT!

A key value to hold on to is the decision to not succumb to the hive mentality no matter what. You may face many hooks in the form of people telling you what they think you should do or how they feel you should be. This may induce a fear reaction in you causing you to close down. It’s in cases like this where extreme vigilance proves useful, DO NOT CLOSE and FACE THE FEAR. Your inner being will provide the answer that is right for you if you just wait it out. Would you rather listen to the source or to another ego? While the answer you are seeking may come in the form of another human being, the feeling behind it will be pure and not fear.

Historically, staying so open might have caused bad consequences such as banishment from society which may have meant a struggle to survive at one point in time. Therefore, the ego uses that fear to convince you not to be so open. Are you strong enough not to listen to that and let it go instead? How bad do you want to be free?

Another trap the ego might convince you of is “How do you know the source you want to lean on is good? How do you know it won’t make you do terrible things?”. That my friends, is the depth of the human shadow and a tricky one to face. One which has no answer except to blindly have and build faith.

Facing fear is something that needs to be practiced constantly, even on the little things. That also includes the silly thoughts that you should not push away but rather just allow to pass through you. That’s the only way you can build enough strength to face the harder things.

Sometimes, it’s the subtle disturbances in the mind that are trickier to resolve than the physically difficult disturbances. This is because the ego may find a clever way to hide the fear in a very convincing story that takes your attention away from it. Extreme dedication, resolve and faith are helpful in eventually uncovering it all.
